King Richard’s Faire 2017 in Carver MA

King Richard’s Faire is back starting Labor day weekend in Carver MA. It is New England’s largest and longest-running Renaissance Festival, with full days of live, interactive entertainment for all ages. It opens its 2017 season during Labor Day weekend September 2nd  and runs weekends and Monday holidays from 10:30am-6pm through October 22nd.

King Richard’s Faire! Entertainment, exciting rides and skilled games abound on the Faire’s enchanting 80 acre wooded site. You’ll be dazzled by acrobats, aerialists, and jugglers! Captivated with our minstrels, dancers and puppeteers and instantly enthralled by fire eaters, and exotic tigers. Hundreds of talented performers perform non-stop for you throughout the day when visiting any one of our eight vibrant stages.

The King’s handsome knights battle on horseback as bawdy beggars compete in mud. Wacky wenches will leave you in stitches while happy villagers engage you in the lanes. Frolicking faeries can be seen dancing through the forest, where you can try your skill in his majesty’s Gaming Glen.

Epicurean pleasures, suited for royalty, will tantalize your taste buds with the Faire’s unbelievable choices of truly scrumptious treats. Satiate your palate with giant spit-roasted turkey legs, ringlets of fryes, and boules of chowder or stew. Don’t forget to quench thy thirst with champagne, wine, and brew!

Many of the King’s talented artisans journey from around the globe and have much to offer all who enter the gates. You’ll discover beautiful handspun pottery, fabulous jewelry, and incredible face painting. Delight in period clothing, leather, armor, and moccasins. Be amazed with sword making, glass blowing and portrait painting. Revel in scented oils, perfumes and fantastic psychic readings as you make memories to last a lifetime!

Faire hours are 10:30a-6p every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday holidays, from September 2 through October 22, 2017. Tickets are $32 for adults (12+) and $16 for children ages 4-11. Children under 4 are free, and parking is free.

Discounts given to groups of 25 adults or more and private parties can be accommodated (birthdays, bachelor/ette parties, anniversary celebrations, and weddings). Groups may make reservations by emailing info@kingrichardsfaire.net.

MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY
Sunday, September 3rd

TROLL BALL
Monday, September 4th @ 11:00AM in the Joust Field
Sponsored by Mastermind Adventures

Part “capture the flag” and part role-playing game (RPG), Trollball is a team sport for all ages where players work together Mastermind Adventurewith teammates to get the ball (the “troll head”) across the opponents’ goal line and into a basket to score a point. Armed with foam swords and a good sense of imagination and humor, players battle while defending and advancing the head down the field to victory for their team. It’s imaginative play for all ages taking place in the joust field just after the gates open at 10:30 a.m., finishing in plenty of time just before King Richard’s first official jousting tournament of the day.

CLEAVAGE CONTEST

Guys call your friends and get to the Faire! You won’t want to miss the opportunity to throw knives, eat a gigantic turkey leg, sip on a Coor’s Light, and watch one of our favorite contests!
Rain date, Sunday, September 10th  Must be 18 and over
The “Faire Ladies of the Realm” are invited to be daring without baring it all at the King Richard’s Faire Cleavage Contest.

VOW RENEWAL Romance is in the “Faire”

Grab your special someone, wear red clothing, and head to the Faire! This weekend will be packed with lovers of all ages! Share a romantic ride on the Swan Swing, a glass of Champagne together, and renew your commitment to one another during a beautiful ceremony on the King’s Stage!

GAME of THRONES, Trivia & Costume Contest (18+)
Saturday, September 23rd 4:00 PM on the King’s Stage
Winter is coming…but first, let’s enjoy the fall! Guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite Game of Thrones’ costume and celebrate with other fans in our gorgeous Kingdom of Cavershire. Those who want to test their G.O.T. knowledge won’t want to miss the trivia challenge and their chance to take home the Iron Throne!

CLASH of the TARTANS! Highland Hunks, Men in Kilts Contest

WITCHCRAFT & WIZARDRY
Harry Potter 12+ Trivia & Costume Contest
Saturday, October 7th 4:00PM

Calling all wizards, witches and warlocks! Fans ages 12 and up are encouraged to dress in their favorite Harry Potter costume and celebrate with other fans in our gorgeous Kingdom of Cavershire. Those who want to test their Harry Potter knowledge won’t want to miss the trivia challenge and their chance to win prizes. There will also be a special prize for the ‘Best Costume’ given away at the conclusion of the trivia contest.

THE WEE ONES PARADE
Prince, Princesses, Pirates, and Fairies Parade
Saturday, October 14th 4:00PM

It’s great to be the King and to prove it…guests are encouraged to attend all weekend long in their favorite Royal attire! You’ll always be treated like royalty when you step through our gates or shop for wares from one of our many talented artisans. Even the youngest royals can get in on the action during this weekend’s family friendly event!

Hear ye, Hear ye!

All children 11 years and younger, are welcome to participate in this royal extravaganza! No pre-registration required, event is limited to the first 50 children in line. Eligible children can line up at the front of the stage just prior to the start of the event.

Each child will be majestically escorted onto the stage as they are presented to their most royal majesties and the crowd. Once presented, they will have the opportunity to take a photo with the King and Queen.

Weekend 8
FANTASY FINALE!
Saturday, October 21st @ 4:00 PM on the King’s Stage
The final weekend is sure to be absolutely AMAZING! It’s also your last chance to visit the King and his Court before the Faire closes its gates until next year. Our final special event will not disappoint. Halloween, COS Play, and Fantasy enthusiasts… get ready to strut your stuff as you compete for best costume in front of an eager audience! As the 2017 Faire Season comes to an end, join us at the Front gate for a rhythmic finale!

Carver Old Home Day 2017

The 115th Carver Old Home Day will be held Saturday July 30th 2016 , at Shurtleff Park (across from the town hall), Main Street, Carver. This annual tradition since 1901 is a great family fun day. Just good old fashion fun  Moms Shopping Survey Earn Amazon gift card and more

What a great day for a run! The race takes off at 8:00 am and starts and ends in Shurtleff Park. Also there will be a Fred Weston Memorial Fun Run for children 10 and under! Click here to register now!
2016 Race Results

Horseshoe Tournament
The 21st Annual Double Elimination Horseshoe Tournament in Shurtleff Park.
Registration begins at 8:00 am and the tournament is at 9:00 am. Parking at library and baseball lot across the street. Main Street access only from 7:45 to 8:15 am.

Doll Carriage / Bicycle Parade
The children parade through Shurtleff Park showing off their decorated bikes and carriages in themes they have chosen. The parade begins at 10:00 am. Please register your child between 9:30 and 10:00 am at the corner of West Street and Main St on the green.

Craft Fair
You will find lots of homemade creations for sale from local crafters and artists. Craft/Artist application can be printed by clicking the button on the right. If it is your creation, come sell your wares at Carver Old Home Day!

The Clambake
An old fashion clambake will be served under the pines in Shurtleff Park. The bake is served at 1:30pm and tickets must be purchased in advanced. Please call Cheryl at 508-866-9196 after June 2017.

Classic Car Cruise and Tractor Show
Bring your classic car, truck or tractor to participate in the show and cruise through the back roads of Carver. All meet at the town hall for display beginning at 10:00 am. Those interested can cruise at 11:00 am and enjoy the town. Music
We always have something for everyone! Our day will be lead off with the sweet harmonies of the Three Amigos beginning at 8:30 am. Next you will get the big band sounds and patriotic music of the Legion “Bud” Band on the band stand from 10:30 to 12:30 pm. Whiskey Burn will rock out our afternoon!

Non-Profit Groups
If you would like to reserve a space to set up your table and display for your local non-profit group, please contact Joyce at 508-866-3953 prior to July 26, 2017 and send your completed Non Profit Space Reservation in.

Children’s Activities
A Rock Climbing Wall will be on the Green for climbing thanks to local donations! Face Painting by Art on the Spot, Fred Weston Memorial Kids Fun Run at 7:30 am and much more. There are always lots of activities for the children to enjoy!

King Richard will celebrate this Anniversary being entertained with several new acts including: Luminous Fire and Flow, a beautiful fire, acrobatic and hoop act; Trash and Treasure, a fabulous new show for the entire family which offers wonderful audience participation; Hopeless Romantics, a terrific and funny one-man show; the talented Royalty Sings and Dances show with new royalty visiting our enchanted village; and the young princesses will rush to see our enchanting new mermaid as she arrives from the oceans surrounding Carvershire.

5 Mile Road Race
Our 5 mile road race starts at 8:00 am while it is still cool. Join for a great run through the scenic back roads of Carver. Awards for Carver Residents.

Horseshoe Tournament
Join the Double Elimination tournament beginning at 8:00 am in Shurtleff Park.
