Daniel Webster Wildlife Santuary Farm Day 2017 in Marshfield MA

Mass Audubon South Shore Sanctuaries  will be  hosting  Farm Day, our 37th Annual Fall Festival at Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary  on Saturday October 21st from  10 to 4pm. Rain Date: October 28 (only in cases of extreme weather) Daniel Webster Wildlife Santuary Farm Day 2017 in Marshfield MA

It’s Mass Audubon’s biggest South Shore celebration of the year! Head on down to Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary where the grasslands will be transformed into a festival of fall farm fun. With tractor-drawn hayrides through beautiful fields, live bluegrass music, educational presentations, games, crafts, artisans, delicious food, and more, Farm Day is not to be missed!

All Farm Day proceeds help Mass Audubon’s South Shore Sanctuaries continue to protect and steward almost 2,000 acres of land on the South Shore; and provide quality educational programming in local schools, at our summer camp, and through year-round activities for adults, children, and families. This annual event celebrates Mass Audubon’s 1984 acquisition of this amazing property, saving it from development and protecting over 500 acres of important habitat.

From Rt 3 north or south: Take exit 12 (Rt 139). Follow Rt 139 east for 3.7 miles to Marshfield Center. Turn right at light onto Webster Street. Follow Webster Street 1.5 miles and turn left onto Winslow Cemetery Road. Sanctuary parking is 0.7 miles ahead (at the end of the road).

 

FRRACS Community Fall Fest 2017 in Weymouth MA

FRRACS will be hosting a community fall festival in the park next to the proposed compressor station.   Saturday, October 21st from 11AM-4PM  We will gather to celebrate the park and all that we have accomplished thus far in the fight against the compressor station. We hope that you will join us in this celebration.

FRRACS Community Fall Fest 2017 in Weymouth MA

There will be music, kids activities, food and more. This event is free and all are welcome to join!

Location: 6 Bridge Street, North Weymouth (the park next to the proposed compressor station site). Entrance is at the base of the Fore River Bridge.

Parking:
There is limited parking on site, but we will have overflow parking with shuttles available from St. Joseph’s Church in Quincy (556 Washington St.).

If you park on site, you can park along the fence and in the parking lot at Lovell’s Grove (on the Calpine side of the bridge). There is a small lot on the right side of the bridge (coming from Weymouth) that will be available for handicap parking. We will have volunteers helping to direct parking.

St. John’s Not-So-Spooky Haunted House 2017 in Hingham MA

The St. John’s (Not-So-Spooky) Haunted House in Hingham is the perfect outing for preschool and elementary age kids and includes refreshments and activities in our lower church hall afterward.

Randolph Community Programs will be hosting the 6th  Harvest Hoopla at Powers Farm on  Saturday  October 21t nd 12 -4pm  .   Admission is free but food and some activities will cost.

Humbolt Truck Pull and Touch a Truck 2017 in Canton MA

The Humboldt Truck Pull is an event that raises money and awareness for Special Olympics Massachusetts. The event will be entering its sixth year of operation raising well over $65,000 for Special Olympics Massachusetts. Teams of 10 individuals will get the chance to pull a full sized tractor trailer, a box truck, an ambulance and a fire engine. Teams come from all walks of life including police, fire, corporate teams and teams from the local community.

The Humboldt Truck Pull will also feature a FREE “Touch A Truck” family friendly exhibition. Name a kid who wouldn’t love to climb aboard a fire truck or big rig! Touch-a-Truck provides a unique opportunity for children to explore and climb on vehicles of all types – public service, emergency, utility, construction, transportation, and delivery – all in one place! This year we will also have some classic cars on display!
