South Shore Art Center Festival 2017 in Cohasset MA

The South Shore Art Center Arts Festival will be held over Father’s Day weekend Friday June 16th, Saturday June 17th and Sunday June 18th on the Cohasset town common. It mixes the best of small town New England summer festivals with an uncommon attention to detail and commitment to presenting quality art and handmade craft.

North River Festival of Arts Memorial Day Weekend 2017 in Marshfield MA

The 2017 Festival of the Arts is a celebration of regional and community creativity, diversity, and art across the South Shore that has been a highlight of Memorial Day Weekend since 1977. Even though this will be the 41st  annual Festival, each year features different art and artists, entertainment, food, and special activities that appeal to all ages. The Festival will be held on Saturday May 27th and Sunday May 28th Admission to the festival is FREE. North River Festival of Arts Memorial Day Weekend 2017 in Marshfield MA


Located on Old Main Street in Marshfield Hills, the Festival offers art and photography exhibits, a fair and street party, and a marketplace for artists and artisans. There are juried awards and prizes for artists and the opportunity for visitors to see (and buy) the best work of the area’s painters, photographers, and artisans. Featured and juried art will include paintings, drawings, photographs, and multi-media sculptures, as well as wood carvings, textiles, and almost any form of the visual arts you can imagine.

Two blocks of Old Main Street in Marshfield Hills will be blocked to traffic, so people will be browsing among several indoor exhibit locations for juried hanging art and outdoor tents where artists and artisans will demonstrate, display, and sell their work. Several of our best artists will be doing painting demonstrations out on the sidewalks, and musical entertainment will be featured across the street from our G.A.R. Hall. Creativity will be everywhere, including kids doing chalk drawings on the pavement.

South Shore Natural Science Center Norwell April Vacation Camp

$35 per day Members, $40 per day Nonmembers, $20 per day Extended Day

Now is your chance to be a scientist. Join us as we investigate, measure, question, and use scientific tools. How can we measure the wind? Where do crystals come from? What lives in the pond? Each day we will discover a different science to answer these questions and more. Dress for the weather as each day will include outdoor exploration as well as hands-on activities and experiments.

Friday April 21: Water Ecologist (includes a visit to Jacob’s Pond)

Your kids, ages 4 and up, will enjoy open gym time on the rock wall, the trapeze swing with the foam pit and the air tumble trak, along with playing sports, games, gymnastics, obstacle courses, arts and crafts and more. We supply the snack, you supply the lunch.

NRT teacher naturalists as they explore the cycles of nature! From rock cycles to life cycles, all of nature’s changes will be explored. Arts and crafts, songs, hikes, and other hands-on activities will be the highlight of your April vacation week! Join NRT, get outside this spring, and explore the fascinating cycles found in nature.

Activities take place both inside and outside, so come prepared to have fun in any outdoor weather conditions.
