The Story Behind Willa James:
My name is Jenn Rogers and I am the Designer and Founder of Willa James Jewelry. I created Willa James to ignite a spiritual journey that helps celebrate our unique stories. Being in fashion all my professional life (several buyer roles at Ruelala, TJMaxx, Marshalls and QVC, and running Marketing & Sales for Rivka Friedman), I always knew I wanted to design my own jewelry line, but I needed a “why.”
Over the last 10 years I experienced a roller coaster of ups and downs in my personal life, difficulties in my marriage paired with 2 babies back to back, and I found myself in a season of depression and anxiety. I felt like I tried all things — therapy, medication — but nothing seemed to lift the weight I still felt. My husband asked me to attend a Christian Life Group with him as essentially our last hope and as we continued to un-pack our junk, the days became lighter, our faith became stronger and I began to feel free from the heavy weights I was experiencing before. As a person who always wore my emotions via accessories, I was seeking jewelry that would exude both style and meaning and found that it didn’t exist…thus I found my “why.”
I knew that I wanted good quality jewelry that everybody could wear (hence all of the jewelry being nickel free) and styling that was simplistic in design, but powerful in meaning. As I began reading the Bible, I realized how relevant the verses can be in our everyday lives and I wanted to share that with others. Every design with Willa James is rooted in scripture and comes with the individualized verse for your piece of jewelry.
