Abington Celebrates will be hodling Oktoberfest celebration Oct. 14-16 at various locations in Abington and Rockland.   Moms Shopping Survey Earn Amazon gift card and more Abington Celebrates Oktoberfest Weekend 2016

The schedule is as follows:
German Dinner: 5-8 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Polish Club, 55 Wales St., Abington. Sponsored by The HUG Foundation. Cost is $10 per person or $25 per family.

Evening with Jim Plunkett: 8 p.m. to midnight Oct. 14 at Players Sports Bar & Grille, 86 VFW Drive, Rockland. Sponsored by the Abington Educational Foundation. Cost is $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

St. Bridget’s School Freaky Family 5K Run and Walk: 8:30 a.m. Oct. 15 at Saint Bridget’s School, 455 Plymouth St., Abington. Sponsored by the PTO.

Oktoberfest Marketplace: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at United Church of Christ, 10 Bedford St., Abington. Free; featuring vendors, children’s story time, raffles, music by Tony Carchia, face painting by South Shore Pottery and the grand opening of the new Thrift Store.

Oktoberfest at Tenth District: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 15 at 491 Washington St., Abington. A special pouring at the brewing company.

Classic Car Show: 2-5 p.m. Oct. 15 at Lowe’s, 400 Bedford St., Abington. Sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 41

Not-So-Scary-Woods: 2-6 p.m. Oct. 15 at Island Grove Park, 200 Park Ave., Abington. Free.  Halloween belongs to the children and the Abington Lions Club and other local town businesses. wants to return it to them. Haunted houses are great for the teens and now younger people have something to call their own. There will be fun events like hayrides, bowling in the woods, face painting, touch a police car and motorcycle.
Hocus Pocus  October Movie Night: 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at Riley Field, Gliniewicz Way, Abington.n.  Join The HUG Foundation for a free family movie night. 16′ outdoor screen. Bring your blanket and enjoy the FREE event sponsored by The HUG Foundation. Snack bar will be open.

Pancake Breakfast: 8-10:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at the American Legion, 1027 Washington St., Abington. Sponsored by the Abington Lions Club.

Strawberry Valley Golf Course Town Appreciation Day: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 16. Free golf and food for Abington residents only. Sponsored by Strawberry Valley and Calm Golf. For information: calmgolf.com.

Oktoberfest Family Celebration: noon-4 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Frolio School/Legion Building on Washington Street in Abington. Sponsored by the Jeff Coombs Memorial Foundation and the Sgt. Daniel Vasselian Memorial Fund and featuring music, food, beer, Joe’s Crazzy Critters and petting zoo, bouncy house, raffles, kids’ games and hayrides.

Double Eagle Oktoberfest German Band: noon-4 p.m. Oct. 16 at Frolio School and the Legion Building in Abington. Sponsored by the Abington Summer Concerts Committee

Dog Costume Contest and Raffles: noon-4 p.m. Oct. 16 at Frolio School in Abington. Sponsored by the Abington Dog Park Committee. Costume contest at 1:30 p.m.; cost is $3 to enter. Raffles and items for sale.
