“Bridgewater State University’s summer Arts for Youth program (now held each summer at the Bridgewater-Raynham High School) is a comprehensive arts program that allows children to explore a full range of performance and visual arts. Children take classes with other students of the same age group in subjects such as video, dance, drama, animation, painting, music, creative computing, gymnastics, puppetry, mask making, and general sports. All courses are taught by professional artists/teachers (12:1 student-teacher ratio) and arts education interns. Children are given the opportunity to discover their individual talent as well as to develop artistic skills in an atmosphere of cooperation, collaboration and fun! In addition to core art classes, children choose a new class each day from our roster of 10 different workshops! One of the highlights of our camp is the daily 12:30 Revue, where we feature the talent of our individual campers, as well as present work from our classes that is finished and in need of an audience! On the last day of each three-week session, parents and friends are invited to a celebration called Arts Fest. On this occasion, we display the work from all of our classes, including dramatic presentations, music performances, dance numbers, and a multitude of visual arts projects. Our celebration ends with a dance finale presented by all of the campers, faculty, and staff!”
The Center for the Advancement of STEM Education at Bridgewater State University is excited to offer hands-on science classes for students entering grades 6-12.

Summer Science Academy for Students Entering Grades 6-12
The Summer Science Academy offers one-week science classes for students entering grades 6-12 in the fall of 2016. This unique program allows students to work as scientists and is designed to inspire students about science while providing them with the foundations necessary for further scientific exploration.
Summer Science Academy students are immersed in science courses and conduct hands-on investigations in their selected class. Students in classes for grades 6-8 will also participate in extracurricular science activities. All classes focus on the importance of science communication as students lead presentations on the last day of class.
