Free Family Outdoor Movies 2015 at Braintree MA

The Town of Braintree will be hosting  3 outdoor family friednly  movies  during   the summer  at   French’s Common Park   adjacent to Town Hall at 8PM. Pre-movie entertainment provided by Crystal Entertainment Services at 6PM.    A BUCK-A-BUY concession stand selling hot dogs, soft drinks, snacks and candy will be on site!  Bring a lawn chair, a blanket and bug spray to enjoy the movie!  Kids will love watching some of their favorite movies from the past year outside. download (1)

Free Tuesday night summer concerts at Sunset Lake 2015 in Braintree MA

The Sunset Lake Braintree Concert Series is back for 2015.  The free summer concerts will be  Tuesday evenings 6:00-8:00pm at  Sunset Lake’s gazebo bandstand. Bring your blanket or lawn chair. Arrive early and be entertained for two free hours. These concerts are sponsered by BELD BROADBAND of Braintree- your electric, cable, internet and phone supplier!! Town Seal Color

June 23rd- “Curragh’s Fancy”

Curragh’s Fancy’s music is heavily influenced by many of the best-known Irish bands, including the Clancy Brothers, The Irish Rovers, the Dubliners, the Wolfe Tones, and Planxty, to name as few. Folk influences include the Kingston Trio, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Stan Rogers, and The Old Crow Medicine Show. Trio members Dave Leahy, Michael Kelley, and Bob Fowkes play several instruments: guitar, banjo, bass, mandolin, bouzouki, and tin whistle, and all three share in the singing. They perform a lively mix of old pub favorites and newer material.

The New City Cowboys are a group of country music lovin’ life long friends based, of all places, just south of Boston Massachusetts. We love the new music coming out of Nashville so much that we formed our new band to bring the “New Nashville Sound” to the Boston area. Our goal is to make sure that you have as good a time listening to our music as we do performing it for you!

Braintree Masonic Building Touch a Truck 2015

The Braintree Masonic Building  will be hosting a Touch a Truck and open house event on Saturday April 11th from 9-3pm. The event is free and a great community event.

While toy trucks provide children with endless amusement, nothing can beat the real thing! Truck enthusiasts of all ages are invited to get an up close look at a variety of trucks and vehicles from   local  Braintree  businesses and state and town agencies.

The Rainbow girls of Wollaston Assembly No. 10 will be doing face painting also. $1 for 1 cheek, $2 for both and $3 for the whole face

Braintree Restaurant Week 2015

Braintree will be celebrating its 1st restaurant week from Sunday March 8th to Saturday March 14th. Braintree’s Restaurant Week is the first event of Braintree’s 375th
Anniversary Celebration.  The Braintree 375 Committee is pleased to have organized a Braintree version  of Restaurant Week as part of this yearlong Anniversary Celebration
encouraging participating restaurants to create “375th” theme menu offerings  with a percentage of sales going to the 375th Anniversary Celebration and  Braintree Historical Society.

They are encouraging residents to go out and experience these customized delicious menu creations and special price offerings available only during Restaurant Week in honor of Braintree’s 375th Anniversary. The snow has really impacted small local businesses and the 375 committee hopes folks will go out and support these participating restaurants.

Campanale’s Restaurant –

Offering a special 375 menu dinner for two with dessert and coffee $37.50 during the week. Friday & Saturday featuring a sirloin special with dessert and coffee for $37.50 per person

Four Square Restaurant & Bar –

Offers dinner for two at $37.50 this special price fix meal includes a salad, your choice of entrees and a bottle of wine

Granite Grill

Offering a price fix menu for two and a bottle of wine for  $37.50.

Maria’s Restaurant

Offering $3.75 kids meals and a price fix meal  for two at $37.50 which includes a bottle of wine, garlic bread with cheese and two entrees.

 

Sintra Restaurant

Specials all week including a price fix menu on  Friday & Saturday featuring a special appetizer and entrée for $37.50 per person and a paired Cabernet Sauvignon offered at $3.75 a glass.

Southside Tavern

Offering $3.75 appetizers from 3 – 6 pm, $3.75  kids meals all day & night and a price fix menu for two at $37.50 which includes a bottle of wine, one appetizer and two entrées

Where are the best places to see Christmas Lights South of Boston we asked that on Facebook and here are some of the responses!  We do a yearly trip to the LaSalette Shrine in Attleboro.    We hit up the Braintree Light every chance we get as my in laws live around the corner that one never gets old.   I think we will be checking out the Norwell ones as well that one is brand new in 2014   Please continue to share your best areas for lights!!

This neighborhood boasts several   houses with lights set to music.  Turn on  your car radio and enjoy the show!  Synchronized Holiday Lights.  Over 50,000 lights, multiple houses, and 1,960 channels of computer controlled animation.  The lights will go on from Saturday December 6th, throughDecember 23rd

Please check out their note on Facebook about them turning off the lights after 10 years.

Check out Crazy Tech Christmas in Lakeville. It’s on Furlong Circle off of Bridle Path in Lakeville . The almost 50000 LED lights are programmed to Christmas music, and even Santa is up in the window checking his list!
