Day 916 Lakeville Arts & Music Festival 2014

The 10th annual Lakeville Arts & Music Festival will take place on Saturday, October 4 between 10am and 4pm at the junctions of Route 18 and 105.  It is a FREE day of community, art, a variety of crafts for sale, children and adult activities, and music South of Boston.

A few of  the attractions will be Linda Peck, our “living” statue, as Mary Poppins; Starry Night Duo who will play inside the Lakeville Public Library playing an eclectic variety of music from lively Celtic and Appalachian tunes to fresh arrangements; and, for a second year, you will enjoy Lady Madness, a band whose members have all graduated from Apponequet High School and are now college freshman.

Our town crier, George Hebert from West Bridgewater, will be there to direct you to wherever you would like to go! We are sure you will not miss him!

Lakeville resident Sarah Martin has been singing since she can remember and joined her first band in the seventh grade. In December 2010 Sarah who performs acoustically decided to learn guitar and started writing original songs and learning covers from a wide variety of genres. Since 2012, Sarah has played in over 15 different Massachusetts locations, performing at restaurants, bars, benefits, weddings and festivals. On October 4, you will hear Sarah sing inside the old Town House where you will also be able to view four different cultural demonstrations.

 

An authentic living history Civil War encampment of a Union Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters will be placed in front of the Lakeville Public Library during the Festival between 10AM and 4PM. Visitors can see and taste food and drink from this infamous time period, view the many historical artifacts and replicas on display, see the weapons from the period and ask questions
