There are several changes in store for the tournament’s third edition. First and foremost will be a slight venue change. In previous years, the weigh-in station and headquarters had been at the state boat ramp. This year’s evolution will see everything move to the docks at Brewer’s Marina on Union Street.

“We’re very happy to be the new host site for the Plymouth 400 Bass and Blue Tournament”, said Tim Moll, who manages Brewer’s Plymouth facility. “This tournament has grown every year and we look forward to serving the participants. We’re excited about expanding our support of the Plymouth 400 and look forward to a partnership that lasts through 2020 and beyond”.

Last year saw the addition of a pre-event Captain’s Meeting Dinner. This year, that Captain’s Dinner will be scaled back to become a cocktail party and will be joined on the tournament schedule by a “Family BBQ and Awards Day”. That event will happen from Noon – 6:00pm, Sunday, on the Marina boardwalk.

“The Family BBQ is an attempt by the Tournament Committee to focus the family aspect of the Plymouth 400”, said Peter Balboni, who Chairs the fishing effort. “It will be a great opportunity for the local community to gather together to watch the weigh-ins, have a burger or a hot dog, a beer or soda, and talk fishing”.

Tournament entry fees remain at $40 for adult division entrants and $20 for youth division competitors and will include a tournament t-shirt this year. Prizes in adult categories will be $400 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place and each place finisher will receive a trophy. Youth place finishers will be awarded gift certificates, as well as trophies and children’s division entrants will receive participant ribbons. There is no entry fee for children under age 7 but they must register in order to be eligible for ribbons.

Participants may register at the link below or may do so in person at Pioppi’s Package Store and at the Andy-Lynn and Lobster Tales ticket booths on the Plymouth Town Pier.

The Plymouth 400th Anniversary commemorates the 1620 landing of the Pilgrims in Plymouth. Massachusetts, and highlights the cultural contributions and American traditions that began with the interaction of the Wampanoag and English peoples; a story that began a national legacy.
