The Company Theater of Norwell’s The ACT Teen Conservatory will be performing the school edition  of the Broadway musical Rent for 3 shows January 24th, January 25th and January 26th
A rock musical set in New York City’s East Village, RENT School Edition is based loosely on Puccini’s La Boheme, resulting in a pop culture phenomenon. The emotionally stirring story follows a year in the lives of a community of young artists, all struggling to live and celebrate life through memorable songs proclaiming “No Day But Todayâ€. The young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves, and conflicts, providing the narrative thread to this groundbreaking musical. In 2007, a modified edition of Rent was made available to five non-professional acting groups in the United States for production. Billed as Rent: School Edition, this version omits the song “Contact” and eliminates some of the coarse language and tones down some public displays of affection of the original
