Day 567 DPW Day 2013 in Plymouth MA

The 8th annual DPW day at the Plymouth Public Library will be held on Thursday May 23rd from 10-2pm during National Public Works week.

DPW Day will feature a display of public works equipment in the library parking lot such as a bucket truck, a loader, a sweeper truck, a plow and much more  It sounds like touch a truck events. . And, of course, the kids can climb on the DPW equipment, which is always a favorite among the little ones.. The library’s Otto Fehlow Meeting Room will feature individual department contributions such as maps and materials important to the infrastructure of the Town of Plymouth – roads, bridges, signals, mapping, the beaches, and much more.
Plymouth’s DPW is composed of the engineering, highway, parks, water, sewer, cemetery, recreation and environmental; management departments. The men and women of the DPW are responsible for the 102 miles of roadways in Plymouth along with our public water supply, wastewater collection and treatment system, parks and cemeteries.

This program is free and open to everyone in the community. We celebrate this annual event with popcorn, ice cream, and lots of fun! The library is fully accessible; please let us know if you need special accommodation to attend.
