Free Thursday night summer concerts in Cohasset 2012

The Cohasset free  summer  concert series will be coming back on Thurday evening  in 2012    The free concerts are held on the Cohasset Common,located in the center of town. .  So bring your  lawn chairs or blankets to sit on and bring a picnic dinner to enjoy! 

 

June 21st – Sargent Dan Clark The Singing Trooper

 

Sgt. Daniel M. Clark, known as “The Singing Trooper” performed in uniform while representing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts during his 20 year career. During this tenure with the State Police he performed at more than 2,500 events for Federal, State, Local, and Military functions. In addition he performed 26 foreign National Anthems, in native dialect, for visiting dignitaries and sporting events. In addition, for 5 years he could be heard on “Radio Disney” as “Trooper Dan”promoting safety for children.

July 19th – Rusty Skippers

 

Rusty  Skippers is a 30-piece concert band based in Cohasset. They play an entertaining pops-style program of marches, jazz, Broadway, and light classical music.

July 26th – Souled Out

 

 The seasoned R&B singers perform (complete with the dead-on vocals and smooth choreography) with the same panache and spirit as their Motown and Soul predecessors, backed by the Northeast renowned Souled Out Orchestra.

Tuesday July 31st – US Navy Band in Memory of Jack Worley

These concerts are made possible through the generosity of the South Shore Playhouse Associates, Inc.

The Cohasset Summer Concert Series is located on Cohasset Common. All performances are free, open to the public, and handicap accessible. Concerts are funded, in part, by the Cohasset Cultural Council along with a donation from the South Shore Playhouse Associates. Donations are gratefully accepted and can be made out to the Cohasset Recreation Department Concert Fund, 41 Highland Avenue. Cohasset, MA 02025. Cohasset Rec department
