April school spring vacation is fast approaching and if you are like my family you are not heading to trip Here are some events and activities that will keep the kids busy on the South Shore Check back here and on our facebook page as additional activities will be added as we learn about them!

The Children’s Museum in Easton – April Vacation Week
Monday, April 18
Noon – 4:00 p.m. – Appearances from Ruff Ruffman will be happening during this time. Come visit the Museum and meet Ruff. Maybe take some pictures with him too
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Dick and Sharon from Fun Faces with a Twist will be here twisting balloons into all kinds of shapes and painting faces for all the kids.
Tuesday, April 19
10:00 – Noon – The Meso-American Maya have 20 Day-symbols in their ritual calendar. Each symbol has a different animal story connected to it. Come hear Mayanist Jason Berube tell the stories of the Day-symbols and create your own set of cards, unfolding the rich mythology of this ancient culture.
1:00 p.m. – Come see Rosa from Rosa’s Recipes and decorate some cupcakes for the Museum’s birthday.
Wednesday, April 20
2:00 p.m. – A Museum favorite, Awesome Robb is back again bringing humor and zany antics to his magic show making it a hit for the whole family. Come check out what Robb will have up his sleeve this week!
Thursday, April 21
1:00 p.m. – Come meet Matt and Melissa Gabriel from Animal World Experience and learn about all of their crazy animals. Check out their website at animalworldexperience.com and learn more about the animals they might be bringing!
Friday, April 22
1:00 p.m. -Sick of the standard card tricks or the old quarter behind the ear? Matthew Graham of Random Effects Entertainment will be here showing us his fun and interesting magic tricks. The kids will be entertained and the adults will feel like kids again!
Saturday, April 23
12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. -Make your own party hat to bring the celebrations home with you! Decorate your hat with festive items in any way that you want to.
Plimoth Plantation has a family fun week planned including different arts and crafts programs on top of their interactive tour.
April 22nd 9-11am Family Farm Hands time More hands make less work! Bring your family down to Weir River Farm to dig in, get your hands dirty, and help us get the farm ready for spring. We’ll have jobs for all ages and abilities.
April 22nd Noon-3pm Animal Barnyard You don’t need to travel far for vacation when you have a wonderful local farm just down the road! Bring your family and a picnic then enjoy a hike and visit with our animals.
The Jim Show Thursday Apr 21

People love to watch Jim accomplish his seemingly unachievable tasks. The show is guaranteed to amaze and amuse.

The Town of Weymouth Services is sponsoring the “Weymouth Carnival” from Wednesday, April 20th through Sunday, April 24th at Weymouth High School. The carnival fundraiser will feature rides, games and food. Featured rides this year include the Freakout, Starship Exodus, and the Arctic Blast along with many more exciting carnival rides.
Discount ride promotions are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 2pm-6pm or 6pm-close, and Sunday 12Noon – 5pm. Purchase a wristband with a discount coupon for $17.00 and ride unlimited rides. Discount coupons can be picked up at area merchants.
WHEN: The Weymouth Carnival opens weekdays at 2:00PM, Saturday & Sunday at Noon. Partial proceeds from the event will benefit the Town of Weymouth.
